How do I create and resolve a punch list item?

Log a deficiency, mark it resolved, and get it verified — by someone other than whoever fixed it.

Add an item

  1. Open Field Ops → Punch list.
  2. Click “Add item.”
  3. Describe the Deficiency, set a Priority (Low, Medium, High, or Critical), and optionally the Location (for example, “Level 3, grid C4”).

Resolve, verify, close

A punch list item moves through five statuses: Open → In progress → Resolved → Verified → Closed.

  1. Once it's fixed, click “Mark resolved.” This records who resolved it.
  2. A different person then clicks “Verify.” If you're the one who resolved it, that button is disabled with a note next to it: “You resolved this — someone else must verify it.”
  3. Once verified, click “Close item” — this is final and confirmed (“a closed item cannot be reopened”).

If a resolved-and-verified item turns out not to actually be fixed, resolving it again clears the previous verification, so it has to go through a real verification again rather than staying “verified” on a fix that changed.

This is Buildiante's four-eyes rule applied to field defects — see why the verifier can't be the resolver.
